Download the Bill of Laden Software Package
Print these instructions to make it easier to follow.
We at Seaside Management Systems want you to see how the software functions, and
how easily the software works. This software will keep your bill of laden
information for years to come, and report the information to other software
packages. If you are downloading this software to a peer-to-peer or network
system, we recommend that you download it to a workstation so you can explore
all of its features without interfering with your present software. When you
decide this software will save you time, it can be easily moved to your main
PC.
Steps to Download
- Go to www.seafoodsoftware.com.
- Click on the “Software Demo” folder.
- Click on “Download Bill of Laden Software”.
- This will be in Zip format and your computer will ask where you
want to unzip the software, any folder will do.
- After the unzipping process is done, go into the folder where the
software was unzipped.
- Double Click on “Install Bill of Laden Software”.
- When the message " Files are on Drive (A thru P) -
" appears, press the letter on the keyboard that identifies the hard
drive. The letter " C
" is the norm, but if you are using a network another letter is used.
In the case a network is in use consult the network individual or dealer.
- When the message " Creating Bill of Laden File Starting Bill of Laden number -
" appears, key in the beginning number for bill of ladens, such as,
101 or 1001 and press the ENTER
key. The software will start with this number and then maintain the
numbers sequentially.
- When the message “ Starting
Invoice Number – “ appears, key in the beginning number for invoices,
such as, 101 or 1001 and press the ENTER key. The software will
start with this number and then maintain the numbers sequentially.
- When the message “ Are the Bill of Laden and Invoice numbers
correct? (Y=yes, N=no) “ appears, check the two numbers that has been
keyed in and if any changes need to be made press N and re-key,
otherwise press Y.A message in RED will appear at the bottom
left of the window “ File Verification is Complete “.
- You are now in the software. The software is menu driven, so until
you press the “ESC” key on the Main Menu screen you are in the software.
Everything is accessible in the software, so before
adding anything, just look around at all the possibilities. The install program
has added all the programs and files in a BOL folder that it created. If your
machine has a config.sys, then adding “files=210” and “buffers=40” will allow
the software to operate more efficiently.
You can add a shortcut to Bill of Laden. In the “BOL”
folder is an SMSBOL.ICO icon for the desktop. Use Either BOL.BAT or BOL0000P.EXE
in the shortcut.
